Philippe Halsman’s Jump Book

During the 1950's Philippe Halsman was a portrait photographer for Life magazine where a lot of his photos made the front cover. After photographing his celebrity subjects he would ask them to jump for the camera. Halsman commented "When you ask a person to jump, his attention is mostly directed toward the act of jumping and the mask falls so that the real person appears."

The photos above of Dean Martin & Jerry Lewis, Salvador Dali and Audrey Hepburn definitely look like their having a lot of fun and this looks like a great book to have.

Now I just gotta find it.....
