My own interpretation for Wale

Well Yale doesn't really equal Wale, but this was just a design that I put together while waiting for my little brother play his card game tournament. I packed the laptop, iPad and iPhone as a backup plan for the long haul and thank goodness there is free wifi here.
I had been reading this article on Brand New ( which is a great site and resource for all things branding and identity work. ) about Yale University Press and how they decided not to use the logo Paul Rand created for them anymore. Instead they are now using the primary Yale logo which can be viewed at the original article from Brand New here.
In my own opinion I like the Paul Rand logo and it's a shame they are not using it anymore. Having some spare time I have re-interpreted the logo for Wale, purely for a bit of fun and overlaid it on top of a great photo of Wale by Mark Seliger for GQ magazine.
