A brilliant short film centered around Maria Rosa Reifler, a teacher at Wilcox Elementary School located in East Los Angeles. She has set up a refuge for these students from low-income families that have struggles in their personal lives in the form of her class discussions and teachings.
She encourages her students to think about what is important in their lives and her goal is to help provide hope and support to the children. Ms. Reifler educates her students on the importance of living a life that matters.
She is an inspiring person and I hope more schools adopt this form of education as part of their program. Their are some great moments in the video and the director John X. Carey and the rest of the team have done a fantastic job getting this message out there.
